PV Sindhu Didn't Drop a Game at the Hylo Open. A Week Earlier, She Lost a Final.
PV Sindhu did not lose a single game at the Hylo Open 2026. Five matches, ten games, ten wins. Seven days after losing the French Open final to An Se-young in three games, she beat Denmark’s Line Højmark Kjærsfeldt 21-12, 21-14 in 39 minutes to win the Super 500 title in Saarbrücken, and none of the four players she beat to get there took a game off her either.
The Hylo Open ran from 27 October to 1 November at the Saarlandhalle in Saarbrücken, Germany, the last stop of Sindhu’s European swing. It was her second BWF title of the 2026 season, after the Japan Open in July, and it came with 9,200 ranking points toward her push to qualify for the season-ending World Tour Finals in Hangzhou this December. On the same Sunday, Lakshya Sen won the men’s title in the same hall, giving India both Hylo Open singles trophies.

PV Sindhu’s unbeaten run to the Hylo Open 2026 title
An all-Indian semi-final
The semi-final put Sindhu across the net from Anmol Kharb, 19, the youngest player left in the draw. Sindhu won it 21-13, 21-16 without the match turning the way her French Open semi-final had against Hina Akechi, which went to 20-22 in the second - this one stayed in her control from early in the first game. Kharb’s own run to the last four had gone the distance once, a 21-18, 22-20 second-round win over Sri Lanka’s Ranithma Liyanage; against Sindhu there was no third game to play for.
The final she walked into, and the one she didn’t
Sindhu came into the final leading her career series with Kjærsfeldt 6-1, the Dane’s only win coming at the 2025 Sudirman Cup. That is a different shape of opponent to the one she met in Paris the week before: at the French Open, Sindhu won the first game 21-16 and then lost the next two to An Se-young, an eleventh straight defeat in eleven meetings. Kjærsfeldt, seeded eighth and ranked 25th, is not An Se-young.
Sindhu never let this final get close. An early lead in the first game stretched to 21-12, and when Kjærsfeldt closed to 7-6 early in the second, Sindhu pulled away again - 19-11 by the mid-game interval - and served it out 21-14.
What the win is worth
The 9,200 ranking points move Sindhu, currently world No. 8, further up the list for one of the eight women’s singles places at the World Tour Finals in Hangzhou, 9-13 December. It is also a break from the pattern this site has tracked through her season: five Indian defeats from a game up at the Asian Games, then three Indian players losing from in front at the Denmark Open, then Sindhu’s own French Open final. The Hylo Open final needed no third game at all.
Did PV Sindhu win the Hylo Open 2026?
Yes. She beat Denmark’s Line Højmark Kjærsfeldt 21-12, 21-14 in the women’s singles final on 1 November 2026, without dropping a game across the whole tournament.
Who did PV Sindhu beat on the way to the final?
Prakriti Bharath, Rosy Oktavia Pancasari, Amalie Schulz, and her compatriot Anmol Kharb in an all-Indian semi-final - every match in straight games.
Is this Sindhu’s first title of 2026?
No, her second. She won the Japan Open in July and was runner-up at the French Open the week before the Hylo Open.
How many ranking points did Sindhu win at the Hylo Open?
9,200, strengthening her position in the race to qualify for the BWF World Tour Finals in Hangzhou this December.

Eleven defeats in eleven meetings, including the French Open 2026 final the week before the Hylo Open.
